100% insulation Grants cover the full cost of insulation and heating under the Energy Companies Obligation required by Government.
ECO provides heating measures to low income and vulnerable households, and insulation measures to low income communities. If the householders do not qualify for a grant, they may still be entitled to Green Deal Finance or alternatively they can pay towards the cost which will typically recovered over a period of time.
Green Deal finance will allow them to have energy efficient improvements made to the property without any up-front cost. Green Deal Finance is effectively a loan attached to the property and the repayments are collected via the saving made through the property energy bills.
You can make energy-saving improvements to your home or business without having to pay all the costs up front through the Green Deal. You may be able to claim money back from the Government for your Green Deal home improvements through the Cash Back scheme.
Get an assessment of your property to see what improvements you can make and how much you could save on your energy bills. Use the assessment to apply for the Cash Back scheme if you qualify. Choose a Green Deal provider to carry out the work. You discuss with them what work you want done and whether the Green Deal is right for you. If you go ahead with the improvements you must sign your Green Deal Plan - this is a contract between you and the provider stating what work will be done and how much it will cost. The provider will then arrange for a Green Deal installer to do the work. Once the work is done, you'll pay off the money in instalments through your energy bill. All Green Deal organisations must be authorised - look for the quality mark.
If you are a private tenant and qualify for the grants then we require a landlord permission letter prior to work being carried out. A tenant or landlord must be living in the property at the time of survey as well as at the time of installation. If you are a council or housing association tenant then you have to contact your local authority to arrange insulation for you.
Once you have booked your survey then one of our expert energy assessor surveyors will visit your house to make sure your property meets the requirements of installation. This assessment is free of cost and no obligation for you to go ahead. At the end of the survey the surveyor will give you an exact quotation if you are the paying customer and do not qualify for grant.
